AVR are authorised members of the Tape Transcription Panel for the Ministry of Justice, supplying transcripts of Court hearings throughout England and Wales. In order to request a transcript of a Court hearing, a
Tape Transcription Request form (EX107) must be completed.
The original form should be returned to the Court with a copy being faxed/posted to us in order that we can process your order and liaise with the Court for receipt of tapes.
Transcripts will be completed within a guaranteed maximum of 10 working days. Expedited services may be offered for more urgent requests. Contact us for further details of our shorter turnaround agreements.
We transcribe Police interviews and covert recordings from audio cassette, VHS or DVD. Please see our Visual Transcription section for more details. We also transcribe interviews where translators or sign interpreters are required.
We provide verbatim transcripts or summarised accounts within speedy turnaround times and will provide a hard copy of the transcript together with an electronic version/copy on CD/floppy disk/USB memory stick for editing purposes.
Due to the growing demand for video/DVD transcription, we have developed a visual transcription unit, equipped with the latest technology and software to enable the interview to be viewed through the computer whilst transcribing.
All non-verbal communication is included, such as nods of head and various gestures. Times are included throughout the transcript for ease of reference.
The visual transcription unit is secure; access is gained via electronic pass. All videos are stored in our safe overnight to ensure security and confidentiality is maintained at all times.

We supply verbatim transcripts of a wide range of professional events, including tribunals, arbitration/disciplinary hearings, experts’ meetings, coroners’ inquests, video conferences and public inquiries.
Transcripts are completed from various formats and depending on the length of the event, transcripts may be available from between 2 to 10 working days.
In addition, we also offer a recording service which will ensure a high quality recording, enabling a detailed and accurate transcript to be produced. A member of our staff will travel to the venue to record the meeting, whilst making detailed notes.
If you require our recording service, we will need as much information as possible in order for us to prepare adequately for the meeting and supply the appropriate equipment.
Useful information would include details of the venue, dates, times, number of speakers, car parking facilities, directions and brief details of the nature of the meeting.
We offer a range of copy typing services which include presentation notes, dissertations, interviews, memos, letters etc.
Notes can be sent to us by fax, post or DX.
